Let me start by saying I do not think the campaign is bad at all. However, I just recently played through it for the second time on Xbox One X and I wanted to share a few of my thoughts on what I feel could have been added to make the campaign even more epic.
More Pierson
The most interesting character in Call Of Duty WW2 for me was Pierson. First time I played through the campaign, I was not sure what to think about him, even after the reveal of what really happened at the Battle of Kasserine. However, I really do think that delving into his backstory a bit more, even letting us play a flashback of the Battle of Kasserine would have been great.
More Stealth
A couple of sections let you play as someone else other than Daniels. Rousseau was a very intriguing character who was a French resistance fighter who lost her husband and son at the hands of the Nazi’s. You get to play with her as she infiltrates a Nazi stronghold and the whole level is full of tension and drama. I would have loved more of this, maybe a section playing as Zuss right at the end?
More Optional Objectives
One of the things that you can do in the Call Of Duty WW2 campaign is save a fallen soldier. Some levels have two, but it is usually three that you can drag to safety (which for some reasons makes the camera go to hell). I am not saying I would have liked more of this, but more optional objectives in general. There is another mission where you can decide to kill a certain Nazi official or you can not bother. I would have liked more things like this. Blow up that truck with supplies, take down that intelligence officer, save those men and so on.
In all the Call Of Duty WW2 campaign is one of the best the series has had in a while and even playing through it a second time was a lot of fun.
Call Of Duty is huge in the news right now thanks to the confirmation that the next game in the series in Call Of Duty Black Ops 4. Well, let’s not forget that Call Of Duty WW2 is still here and still has some great content to offer.
Of course, we know that there are another three DLC packs to come for Call Of Duty WW2. However thanks to the weekly community updates that Sledgehammer Games are doing now. We know that on Tuesday the 13th of March, the next Call Of Duty WW2 update is going to be stacked…. What this stacked update is that Sledgehammer Games have planned is not exactly known, but we do know that Prop Hunt and Gun Game are coming.
Gameplay fixes, new guns and so on are all said to be part of this update. It is sure to be exciting stuff and while Sledgehammer Games will have a set of Patch Notes to let us know what is coming. I have to say, firing a game up after a big update and being surprised by some of the changes that have been made is always a lot of fun.
So while it is very easy to be swayed by the excitement of Call Of Duty Black Ops 4, do not dump Call Of Duty WW2 yet. Sledgehammer Games have shown that there is still a ton of life left in this game yet. With how exciting the Resistance Event and DLC pack was, I for one am very excited for the remaining three DLC packs.
How Is The Resistance Division In Call Of Duty WW2
While I talked a great deal about The Resistance Event in Call Of Duty WWII. I never actually talked much about the actual Resistance Division which was added to the game during this event and I thought that today I would share my thoughts on The Resistance Division.
What I like about The Resistance Division is the way it plays like a run and gun style of class, but it also has many stealth elements. Even from the first level, you get access to the tactical knife which can dish out a one hit melee kill, it is awesome!
Level 2 sees you have the ability to scramble nearby enemy maps which is really handy when you are trying to creep up on someone. Level 3 gives you an extra attachment as well as allowing you to swap weapons faster. I know that this sounds kind of “meh” but this is the kind of upgrade that comes in really handy without you even realizing it is there.
Level 4 though is where it is really at. Level 4 sees you being able to see enemies on your mini map when they are close. If you are running around looking to take people out with your tactical knife, this is a very handy ability to have.
I think that The Resistance Division is a lot of fun. I would not say that it is the class I will always play as, but I have had a lot of fun with it. If you are not too good at stealth in first person shooters (like me) this is a great way to be able to play a little stealthy, but also do a lot of damage. Let me know what you think of the Resistance Division in Call Of Duty WWII in the comments section down below.
